POSITION: Shop Mechanic
TENTATIVE START: As soon as possible
REPORTS TO: Lead Mechanic / Production Manager
SUMMARY: Equipment shop Mechanic. Responsible for maintaining and repairing various types of equipment, tractors, and vehicles. Able to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulics. Fabrication and innovative ideas a plus.
PAY RANGE: $24 – $30 per hour + $5 – $6 er hour benefit package, negotiable DOE
BENEFITS INCLUDE: Company paid health, dental, vision, short term and long term disability and life insurance, up to 80 hours paid vacation per year, 40 hours up too PTO time per year, company supplied uniforms, two paid holidays, 401K plan, 125 cafeteria plan.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Demonstrating good mechanical theory
- Demonstrate equipment and operational knowledge
- Organization and planning management
- Documentation management
- Ability to research and trouble shoot all mechanical issues
- Ability to read and write in English clearly and legibly
- Welding and fabrication helpful
- Electrical operation and trouble shooting
- Hydraulic function and troubleshooting
- Bearing and seals usage and identification
- Small engines repair and maintenance
- Diesel engines familiarity
- DOT trucks and trailers
- Tires
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment; adhering to all safety policies and procedures

The successful Equipment Manager/Mechanic candidate will demonstrate:
- Impeccable attendance

- Ability to lift 100 lbs
- Ability to bend/stoop/crouch/squat/use arms/wrists/hands/grasp/sit on moving equipment
- Ability to meet or exceed all safety criteria set by DOT
- Ability to track and monitor all equipment maintenance, including preventative maintenance
- Work effectively and efficiently in a team environment
- Outstanding communication
- Ability to be self- directed; maintain positive, cooperative, and team-oriented relationships with co-workers
Qualifications
- Bilingual skills – English/Spanish helpful.
- Two year experience.
- Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing.
- Valid O.D.L.
- Able to obtain CDL license helpful.
- Able to pass drug test which means the urine tested positive for one or more of the drug panels included in the test.
- Able to pass a background check as determined by employer.
- Pass DMV driving record requirements of our insurance company as insurable to drive company vehicles.
- Ability to obtain a CDL in a timely fashion, no later than one (6) months from hire date (company pays cost)
Work Environment
- Indoor shop.
- Outdoor environment with periodic inclement weather conditions
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bilingual skills – English/Spanish helpful.
- One year experience with properly training personnel on all equipment and procedures.
- One year experience with turf maintenance and equipment.
- Two year’s supervisory experience.
- Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing.
- Valid O.D.L. With insurable driving record.
- Computer literate on various software.
- Able to obtain CDL license helpful.
- Able to pass drug test which means the urine tested positive for one or more of the drug panels included in the test.
- Able to pass a background check as determined by employer.
- Pass DMV driving record requirements of our insurance company as insurable to drive company vehicles.
